Last year was the first time Burning Man has sold out, which has had the organizers implementing a lottery system, which means that not everyone who wants to go, will get to go. I think this video summarizes most of my feelings pretty well.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CAc7HpKY3Ik\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A new friend of mine, that I met at a Decompression party here in Toronto mentioned <strong>Boom Festival<\/strong> in Portugal.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wf6MulK3bZ8\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I was just told about the <a title=\"festival info\" href=\"http:\/\/lightninginabottle.org\/\">Lightning in a Bottle<\/a> music festival in California, around May.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/34799577?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0&amp;color=ffffff\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Rainbow Gathering<\/strong>(s) which occur all over the world.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DjXxVgNiUkE\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Another festiva-&#8230;er&#8230; &#8220;republic&#8221; that I have come across (thx Mackenzie) is called <strong>Kazantip<\/strong> and is apparently the largest rave in eastern Europe.<\/p>\n<p><script src=\"http:\/\/player.ooyala.com\/player.js?embedCode=Z5ZGZpMjr77v-YTMYwCOPS4VeakGiXXl&#038;height=360&#038;width=640&#038;deepLinkEmbedCode=Z5ZGZpMjr77v-YTMYwCOPS4VeakGiXXl&#038;video_pcode=JqcWY6ikg5nwtXilzVurvI-vU6Ik&#038;autoplay=0\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>WHOAH&#8230; ok, that was <strong>NOT work-safe viewing<\/strong>. Also, not sure how comfortable I would be partying it up with a bunch of Russian mobsters.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shambhalamusicfestival.com\/\" title=\"in Salmo, BC\">Shambala<\/a>, <a title=\"Ibiza on Youtube\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=KmwEUHIRgh0\">Ibiza<\/a>, <a title=\"DEMF on Youtube\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=18yfgKuYrLo\">Movement<\/a> in Detroit, the <a title=\"WMC on Youtube\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hBt4anjdzlg\">Winter Music Conference<\/a> in Florida and others (that I&#8217;m either forgetting or haven&#8217;t yet discovered). However, I don&#8217;t expect to find anything that will compare to dancing on a two-story pirate ship while visiting 30+ foot sculptures in the desert.
